SafetyCulture alternatives for cleaning companies
SafetyCulture is the most widely used inspection app in the world and it is genuinely good software. Cleaning contractors go looking for an alternative because a janitorial contract has a shape a general inspection app does not model: a customer, a site under a service agreement, a supervisor who scores, and a front-line cleaner who has to fix the problem without being an employee with a licence.

Same product, three names
If you are confused about what this product is called, you are not alone. It launched as iAuditor, was renamed SafetyCulture, and as of 2026 goes to market as Mitti by SafetyCulture. The old safetyculture.com/pricing address now redirects straight to mitti.com/pricing. It is the same lineage and the same platform under three names. Any comparison page that treats them as separate products has not been updated.
What it costs
Pricing is per seat and published. There is a Free plan for up to 10 team members with 5 active templates and 3 years of inspection history. Premium is $29 per seat per month billed monthly, or $24 billed annually. Enterprise is a custom quote, with a site-based licensing option for larger deployments.
For a cleaning company the per-seat model is the thing to model out honestly. Ten supervisors on Premium is roughly $240 a month billed annually, which is competitive. The question is what happens when you want your 60 front-line cleaners to receive and close out a deficiency. Under a per-seat model, they are seats.
Where a general inspection app strains on a cleaning contract
These are structural, not bugs. A platform built to inspect anything cannot be built around one thing.
- No customer object. Your sites belong to customers, contracts renew, and the report has to be sendable to the person who signs. A generic platform has locations and users, so you rebuild the customer relationship in folder names.
- Exports instead of a live link. You can generate a beautiful PDF, but a contractor usually wants a link the property manager opens without an account, showing this month’s score and the deficiencies that were closed.
- Front-line access is a seat. The whole point of inspecting is that the cleaner fixes the problem. If acting on a deficiency costs a licence, you either pay for 60 seats or you go back to texting photos, which is where the trail dies.
- Configurable scoring becomes negotiable scoring. Flexible rating scales are a feature until two supervisors score the same restroom differently. Pass / Fail / N/A with a forced photo on every fail removes the argument.
- A big template library, and no shared standard. Templates are a real advantage for getting started, but they are not one standard per site that every supervisor walks identically, which is what makes scores comparable month over month.

KleanProof
Built for one job: commercial cleaning inspections and the loop that follows them. Pass / Fail / N/A scoring with a photo forced on every fail. The failures from one inspection become a single ticket with an owner, a due date and a review step. Cleaners get a link by email or text, fix the problem, photograph the fix, and a supervisor reviews it before it closes. Sites and inspections are unlimited; you pay for supervisor seats. $250 CAD a month for 2, $500 for 10, $50 per additional seat, 30 days free.
Not for you if you need to inspect anything other than cleaning. There is no safety audit module and there will not be one.
OrangeQC
The other purpose-built janitorial inspection product with published pricing: $250 a month for 2 inspectors, $500 for 10, $50 per additional inspector, and free admin, ticket and view-only users. A 30-day trial with no payment information required. Long track record in the category. Full breakdown of OrangeQC and its alternatives.
Otuvy, formerly CleanTelligent
QM Inspect starts at $150 a month for 5 users with unlimited service locations and inspections. QM Pro is $250 and adds work orders, job scheduling, QR form capture and client portal access. Front-line task management is a separate add-on. The longest history in janitorial QC of anyone on this page. More on the rebrand and the current lineup.
GoAudits
The closest like-for-like swap if you want a general inspection app at a lower per-user price: $10 per user per month on Starter billed annually, $30 for Enterprise, a 14-day trial, and free checklist setup by their team. It has the same structural gaps as any general platform, at a lower number.
How to decide in one afternoon
Pick your worst site. Build its inspection in SafetyCulture and in one cleaning-specific tool, and walk it once in each. Compare whether you could send the result to that customer without editing it, whether every failed item landed on a named person with a date, and whether anyone confirmed the fix, with a photo, before it closed. A general platform usually wins the first walk and loses on that last point. The reasoning is in the quality control system, and the checks themselves are in the commercial cleaning inspection checklist.
Common questions
Is iAuditor the same as SafetyCulture and Mitti?
Effectively yes. The inspection app launched as iAuditor, was renamed SafetyCulture, and the platform now goes to market as Mitti by SafetyCulture. The old safetyculture.com/pricing address redirects straight to mitti.com/pricing. If you are reading an older comparison that lists all three as separate products, it is out of date.
What does SafetyCulture cost?
There is a free plan for up to 10 team members with 5 active templates and 3 years of inspection history. Premium is $29 per seat per month billed monthly, or $24 per seat per month billed annually. Enterprise is a custom quote with a site-based option. Verified on mitti.com/pricing, August 2026.
Can I use SafetyCulture for janitorial inspections?
Yes, and plenty of cleaning companies do. It will capture a scored walk with photos perfectly well. The friction shows up around the contract: there is no native concept of a customer, a site under a service agreement, or a front-line cleaner who is not a paid team member, so the client-facing report and the accountability loop are things you assemble rather than things the product hands you.
When should a cleaning company use a general inspection app anyway?
When cleaning is one of several things you inspect. If the same platform also has to cover site safety audits, equipment checks and incident reporting across a diversified services company, a general platform is the honest answer and a cleaning-only tool would be the wrong purchase.
